Railroad Travel |
This 1930s original vintage travel poster promotes the Swiss Luzern–Interlaken Express railway line. The route, still operational today, takes passengers right through the heart of Switzerland, connecting Interlaken with Lucern.
The designer, Otto Baumberger, was one of the first Swiss graphic artists to have a career that responds to the occupational title of “poster designer”. He acquired a thorough knowledge of lithographic technique and designed more than two hundred posters. Baumberger was far ahead of his time in recognizing fundamental aspects of consumer goods advertising.
