This is a cool Japanese travel poster depicting a deer in a traditional Japanese garden, probably in Nara. Nara is the capital city of Nara Prefecture located in the Kansai region of Japan. The city occupies the northern part of Nara Prefecture, bordering Kyoto Prefecture.
The poster is issued by the Board of Tourist Industry. One of the roles of the Japanese Government Railways was to attract foreign tourists to Japan. In 1930, the government created the Board of Tourist Industry as a section of the Japanese Government Railways. The Board was dissolved in 1942, following the outbreak of the Pacific War in 1941.
The poster has small tears and minor creasing and staining at the edges.
